Tahiti with 170.000 people and Papeete with 26.000 are the biggest among French Polynesia. Lots of cars, shops, big harbors (even the boat "Athena" owned by the Onassis family docked on) keep this city busy. "Le Truck" is the local transportation getting one around. Church and Sunday mass (note the ladies hats) are an important aspect to Tahitian life, so is the market that offers everything from fresh fruit to local art.
